Future Plans
Hi all!
We took a week off to figure out what do we want "Rogue Bugs" to be.
"Rogue Bugs" is planned to be a beat 'em up couch co-op game with puzzle platforming segments.
Oh! Important note: even if we are mainly focusing on the co-op experience, single player will also receive it's own much needed love!
Levels
We are aiming to have a similar level structure to the "Little Big Planet" series, where it doesn't matter if you are playing alone or with friends, you can have fun either way!
Talking about the levels, we will add a lot of interactive objects to make them feel like a miniature amusement park - that means, objects to punch, jump on, throw, break and so on...
Combat
The combat has a solid foundation for now, but it will be expanded greatly. Our goal is to make the game easy to pick up for the new or inexperienced players and keeping it interesting for others.
Right now, it comes down to two fast punch attacks and one alternative attack, but we would make it more intriguing by introducing new move sets performed by button combination or gameplay scenario.
Mutagens and upgrades
The mutagens are used to unlock new characters. We have planned to add more features for the mutagens while working on the gamejam version, but they were scrapped during development, luckily they are making a comeback!
Two new major features include: upgrading character's limbs to enhance it's performance and swapping limbs of your favorite bug to make a ultimate experimental life form!
When to expect a new content update?
We would love to finish the "Lab Terrarium" level this year. I think we would release it in several parts...
But for now, only time can tell.
Demo
We plan to make the first level playable entirely for free both in co-op and singleplayer modes.
After we finish the "Lab Terrarium" level, the Demo will be released.
That's all for now, cheers!
